Job summary

Vix Technology is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own and continually improve AWS-based infrastructures, operating across production and non-production environments. You’ll design, build, and automate scalable platforms, collaborating with product, development and customer teams to deliver reliable services.

The role focuses on infrastructure modernisation, automation, and cloud operations, with responsibilities spanning CI/CD, IaC, monitoring and security in a hybrid UK work setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.
• Strong experience administering AWS cloud environments.
• Experience managing Linux and Windows infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or Terraform).
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automation using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, load balancing and firewalls.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production environments.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging and observability tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices and DevSecOps principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure, highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Operate and support production and non-production environments across multiple products.
• Deliver infrastructure improvements, platform upgrades and cloud migration initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.

• Monitor platform health, performance and security, proactively identifying improvements.

The Opportunity

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational ownership and continual improvement of multiple customer-facing and internal platforms hosted primarily on AWS.

You’ll work across a diverse technology estate including Linux and Windows servers, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring platforms and security tooling. The role combines project delivery with day-to-day operational support, allowing you to influence platform architecture while helping ensure high service availability for our customers.

• Experience working in highly regulated or customer-facing production environments
• AWS certifications

Additional Information

To be successful in this role, you should be able to quickly become an effective contributor within the Platform Engineering team. We are seeking experienced engineers with a strong background in operating and supporting production cloud platforms who can confidently take ownership of technical work from the outset.
