Job summary

Green Street is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS for our CRE tech platform. You will partner with Agile teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient services, enabling rapid deployment and robust monitoring.

You will contribute to cloud modernization and automation, develop deployment pipelines, and advocate DevOps culture within an energetic, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software/engineering experience as a senior contributor.
• 3+ years DevOps/Solutions experience with Azure and AWS in production SaaS environments.
• Strong command of Azure and AWS: compute, network, storage, database, security, monitoring, cost management.
• Experience with automation provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation) and docker + orchestration tools.
• Database administration knowledge and experience with modernizing cloud apps.

We are actively looking for a talented, hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer who is interested in configuring, building, and maintaining our scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure that supports Green Street’s internal and client facing applications.

From scripting to monitoring to networking, we are looking for someone who is comfortable with technical nitty gritty, as well as working in a highly collaborative environment. You will be collaborating with Agile development teams and working alongside our talented team of Solutions engineers.

Job Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management and support of both Azure and AWS environments, applications, and processes
• Closely collaborate with development, data, and QA teams to implement best practices and automation, with security, scalability, and operability in mind
• Architect, explore and evaluate new technologies contributing to systems design and deployment of new products/releases
• Develop tools to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor and troubleshoot application stacks and critical infrastructure
• Ensure high reliability and performance of application infrastructure
• Review incoming platform alerts and handle or elevate the alerts within a defined SLA
• Help define and enforce policies and procedures around security, deployments, and cloud infrastructure, with an emphasis on industry best practices
• Planning and orchestrating migration of data and applications between cloud providers

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of software/engineering experience as a senior contributor
• 3+ years each of DevOps/Solutions experience working with Azure and AWS in production SaaS environments
• Demonstrate command of both Azure and AWS technologies in multiple areas: compute, network, storage, database, serverless, security, application monitoring and spend monitoring
• Cloud network architecting and build-out
• Excellent scripting skills and proficiency in Python, SQL
• Experience with automated infrastructure provisioning (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), Docker containers, and related orchestration tools as well as configuration management technology
• Database administration knowledge and a history of applying DevOps principals to database workloads is a plus
• Hands-on experience and understanding of modernizing cloud applications
• Ability to independently solve problems and build robust solutions and enjoy working with minimal supervision within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Ability to support the development teams and evangelize DevOps culture and practices
• Experience implementing automated deployments pipelines
• Must enjoy collaborative problem solving, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate attention to detail
• Track record of keeping up with new cloud technologies, languages, security, standards, and practices
• Disaster Recovery / High Availability design and deployment across regions is a plus
• Communication skills as an excellence – both expression and listening
• Ability to work autonomously and with your team-mates
• Grounded self-esteem with willingness to share your ideas and solutions

Compensation, Benefits And Work Authorization

In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
