Job Description

The Dev Ops Team ensures Opayo Web Applications are delivered through Development, Test, and Production environments in an automated Continuous Delivery process. Opayo is a high-transaction environment with 24/7 availability. The team maintains core applications, monitors systems, and responds to issues in line with departmental SLAs.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  • Maintaining and supporting Opayo Payments Applications, using monitoring tools to detect failures, investigating/resolving issues, and writing custom monitoring scripts.
  • Collaborating with development teams to design new products and architect new solutions.
  • Monitoring Live environment to detect failures and investigate/resolve issues.
  • Working with the Development & Test Teams to deploy software releases.
  • Providing production support as required inside and outside standard hours.
  • Reducing BAU overhead by replacing manual tasks with automated solutions.
  • Contributing to continual improvement for self, team, and supported systems.
  • Participating in departmental projects per the technology roadmap.
  • Cooperating with 3rd parties and partners to ensure product compliance and stability.
Skills, know-how and experience

Must have:

  • Extensive experience with AWS
  • Extensive experience with scripting languages
  • Extensive experience with monitoring tools (SumoLogic, New Relic)
  • Extensive experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Extensive experience in a DevOps support model
  • Experience working in a highly available, high-transaction production environment
  • Demonstrable experience communicating in a fast-paced, results-oriented, team-based environment

Preferred: Proven experience with payment gateways

Key performance indicators
  • System uptime and downtime aligned with Operational SLAs
  • All releases follow defined processes and procedures
  • Participation in Oncall rota (additional on-call allowance)
  • Objectives achieved through scripts maintained in source control

Location

The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule with an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week, and flexibility to work outside the office location for other days.
