We are currently supporting a specialist technical consultancy in their search for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing Central Government team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects while shaping modern, secure cloud infrastructure.
Location and working model
Work from home or from one of six UK office hubs (including Bristol, Cheltenham, and London). Bi-weekly travel to London is required to meet with customers.
The role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure
- Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters (Docker, Helm)
- Developing automated tools and processes for deployment, monitoring, testing, and maintenance
- Creating and maintaining security, compliance, and disaster recovery procedures
- Optimising systems for high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency
- Monitoring and improving infrastructure/application performanceTroubleshooting and resolving infrastructure/application issues
- Mentoring junior DevOps engineers

Essential skills & experience
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Configuration Management & Automation expertise
- Containers & orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Observability tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana
- Basic programming skills (any language)
- CI/CD pipeline development and management experience
Eligibility requirement
You must be a British citizen who has lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years, in order to qualify for high-level security clearance.
