About the Role

Hybrid working: 2 days a week in our London Dean Street office. Senior‑level software developer focused on building and maintaining large distributed systems that power our consumer and B2B products and help more than 24 million monthly visitors save billions of pounds a year.

We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working in a full‑stack product team and who can also shine as a backend‑leaning developer. The role is full‑stack but given the team’s responsibilities the ideal candidate will be adept at both front‑end and back‑end development and will own all stages of the SDLC.

Technology

• BE: Typescript, AWS, Java
• FE: Javascript, Typescript

Back‑ends are a mix of Java microservices and serverless AWS Lambda services using Typescript. Front‑end apps are single‑page applications in modern JavaScript frameworks powered by our microservice architecture. Infrastructure is hosted in AWS (ECS, containerised, serverless) and we embrace event‑driven systems backed by Kafka. Operational data stores are Mongo and AWS managed relational databases.

What We’re Looking For

• Experienced developer who can work with Typescript, Java, AWS and has a strong desire to practice TDD.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, acceptance, E2E, performance) and a passion for TDD.
• Solid understanding of SOLID design principles and clean code.
• Experience shipping and owning systems using CI / CD in cloud infrastructure.
• Strong agile development practices – ship and deliver value quickly.
• Enjoy pairing, mobbing, and highly collaborative environments.

• Technical interview consisting of Q&A, paired programming task, and behavioural questions.
