A new games publisher in the UK is seeking a Design Lead to ensure the success of game releases with an average review score above 80%. Responsibilities include providing actionable feedback, assessing game pitches, and documenting design specifications. Ideal candidates should have extensive design experience and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple projects and genres. Benefits include a competitive salary and enhanced holiday package.
We are a new games publisher, currently in stealth mode, established by industry veterans who have previously built successful publishers from the ground up.
At present, we are focused primarily on Steam and are aiming to build a portfolio of games in niche markets with committed fan-bases.
In this role, you are primarily responsible for the games we release achieving an average review score of over 80%.
To that end, you provide a generous balance of creative support, freedom, and experience to our development partners– establishing yourself as a deep well of design knowledge to draw from.
Provide Actionable Design Feedback
We aim to release high-quality games that engage and delight our players.
You are responsible for helping our developers use their limited time and resources efficiently and effectively to build incredible games.
In some cases, Mythwright will be more directly involved in development and you will act in a design lead or game director capacity.
You are as comfortable balancing a complex game economy or writing a feature spec as you are providing high-level direction.
You are responsible for playing early demos and builds to assess creative potential.
We are looking for someone with years of design experience who has been through the full cycle of game development many times– serving with a potent mix of optimism and realism.
Competitive Salary
You will receive a competitive salary and other benefits as they come online.
In addition to your normal 20 days holiday allowance, you will also benefit from a 2-week company summer shutdown and a 2-week winter break each year to rest and recharge.
