Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care in Witney is seeking a Senior Manager, Design Transfer to lead end-to-end transfer of new products and design changes from R&D into manufacturing across Abbott sites and partners. You will shape strategies, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive process validation, quality systems, and regulatory readiness to support a global product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering or related discipline.
• Progressive medical device industry experience.
• Experience with design transfer, process validation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, planning and execution of design transfer activities for new products, product changes and manufacturing improvements.
• Drive the commercialization of innovative diabetes care technologies from development into global manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate cross-functional and cross-site stakeholders to ensure successful product launches and business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott Quality Systems and external regulatory requirements, including FDA and ISO standards.
• Support selection and onboarding of manufacturing sites for product transfers.
• Lead validation strategies, including process validation, test method validation and manufacturing qualification activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, coaching and technical guidance across quality engineering and project teams.
• Act as SME during regulatory inspections and quality audits.
• Manage risk using DFMEA, PFMEA, and other risk management tools.
