BAM Construction is recruiting a Senior Design Manager to join the London Region.

With a proven record of managing all design aspects of a project from tender through to completion, you will be expected to work effectively as an integral member of the bid and construction delivery team, following our values: sustainable, inclusive, collaborative, reliable and ownership, enable us to achieve our ambitions. Making Possible
  • You will be required to manage the design process to deliver technically compliant, cost-efficient and coordinated design packages, during both the pre-construction and project delivery stages.
  • Engage and manage the digital and sustainability requirements of the project.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, design team members and external consultants, creating a collaborative environment to deliver design information that meets the clients requirements and conforms to building regulations.
  • Overseeing a variety of contract types and multiple live projects, you will manage the design information release, production and approval of technical drawings, chair design workshops, coordinate complex design packages, and validate design details, adding value to the construction process.
  • Providing expert guidance and technical support, you will work closely with both clients and project teams to identify and mitigate risks, as well as ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and planning requirements.
  • Demonstrate level of technical competence across Arch, Structures, MEPH
  • Assisting with the selection and scope of suitable subcontractors for Contractor Design Portions and working drawings.
  • Ensure the design programme is developed with all parties to inform TIDP. Manage the design programme and report
  • Regular reporting both internally and externally.
Your team

You will report to the Regional Design Manager.

The position involves a mixture of working from home, our London office and site offices.

What do you bring to the role?

  • An understanding of both the design and construction processes, and the interface between them with an understanding of Revit and AutoCAD and BIM Level 2 requirements.
  • Desire to drive improvements and benefits through embracing digital construction
  • Excellent communication skills, both at the personal level and more formal reporting level
  • GCSE s+ HNC in Building Studies, Degree in Design Management or Architecture.
  • Review design for technical completeness and buildability, Develop Consultant scopes of service, Develop VE proposals with wider team, Lead design programme
  • An understanding of EDMS, particularly BIM360 and ACC.
