Overview

Last Mile Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions‑oriented engineering project leader to lead the initiative of developing and delivering next‑generation, world‑class Last Mile transportation systems. Are you an innovative leader that wants to design the next generation of world‑class delivery station and logistics systems across the globe? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? Does the challenge of designing systems that leverage groundbreaking automated material‑handling equipment, packaging technologies and robotics appeal to you? If so, we have the job for you!

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the delivery station network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Track existing and set up new metrics as required to validate vendor and team performance.
  • Report on performance in weekly and monthly forums with partner teams and senior leadership.
  • Set measurable targets that align with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Comprehend the technical requirements of internal customers and become an expert in the field.
  • Influencer: Innovative pioneer with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion.
  • Significant experience overseeing partner teams through good judgment, making data‑driven decisions, and working cross‑functionally across Product, Tech, Program, Finance, Legal, SMEs, Local Ops, GP, etc.
  • Act as a highly visible, cross‑functional role requiring effective collaboration and efficient communication with multiple teams and global stakeholders. Proactively understand and communicate critical business needs and translate them into solutions.
  • Doer: Ability to successfully deliver end‑to‑end technology and vendor operations projects, navigating many obstacles along the way.
  • Communicator: Ability to present to senior leadership, communicate expectations and requirements equally well with business and technology teams, and capacity to write well‑reasoned and data‑oriented proposals, performing your own data examination as necessary.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to utilize exceptional problem‑solving skills to work through difficult tasks.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non‑automated material handling equipment.
  • Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.
  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineering tools.
