Job summary

Pressure Tech Ltd in Glossop, UK is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead development of pressure control products from concept through to production. You will mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement across the business.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, extensive experience with high-pressure fluid systems, valves and regulators, and strong 3D CAD and problem-solving skills. You will manage multiple projects and contribute to design-for-manufacture initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience with mechanical product design and high-pressure fluids.
• Strong knowledge of valves, pressure regulators and pressure control equipment.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and MS Office; capable of multi-project management.
• Experience with design-for-manufacture and design verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and verification of new and existing products.
• Produce detailed designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Lead prototype assembly, testing, fault-finding and validation.
• Drive product improvements using data and manufacturing feedback.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to design engineers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As we continue to expand into clean energy markets, we are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative pressure control products from concept through to production, while playing a key role in mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement across the business.

DUTIES INCLUDE

• Lead the design, development and verification of new and existing products.
• Produce detailed designs, engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Lead prototype assembly, testing, fault-finding and design validation activities.
• Drive product improvements using root cause analysis, test data and manufacturing feedback.
• Support production with design-for-manufacture solutions and engineering changes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Design Engineers.
• Contribute to R&D projects, continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience designing mechanical products and high-pressure fluid systems.
• Strong knowledge of valves, pressure regulators and pressure control equipment.
