Senior Design Engineer - Watton | £45k-£55k

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers in the UK and India. You'll support complex heater design projects, provide technical authority, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for clients.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and appraisals
  • Approve drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
  • Take ownership of engineering calculations, material selection, and design analysis
  • Act as technical authority internally and with clients
  • Contribute to product improvements and new design solutions
  • Ensure engineering best practices and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex mechanical designs
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD desirable
  • Experience with engineering standards, product certification, and documentation
