Airbus Belfast Limited seeks an experienced Senior Design MRB Engineer to provide night-shift engineering authority for MRB design activities and quick dispositions of manufacturing issues. You will lead design tasks, resolve defects, and ensure certification compliance while coordinating with internal teams on repairs and improvements.
The role involves coaching junior engineers, preparing progress reports, and representing the design function in reviews.
At Airbus in Belfast, our manufacturing lines operate around the clock to deliver world-class aerostructures and systems.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design MRB Engineer to provide dedicated Night Shift engineering authority and coverage across all Material Review Board (MRB) design activities. In this critical, high-impact role, you will be the primary technical authority on shift - providing rapid engineering dispositions for manufacturing defects, approving structural concessions, and resolving complex shop-floor build issues in real time to keep production moving safely and without delay.
Ensure all structural and systems designs comply strictly with certification requirements, prepare engineering changes and modification proposals, and make key internal design decisions within standard company guidelines. Partner with in-house departments to resolve manufacturing issues, provide formal dispositions for defects/concessions, and advise on repairs for in-service aircraft and components. Lead trade studies and manage technical tasks to deliver high-quality design outputs on schedule to directly support ongoing shop-floor production builds. Direct and coach junior design engineers, prepare formal progress reports, and represent the design function in technical reviews and cross-departmental meetings.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
These are fully on-site roles operating on a permanent night shift pattern; submitting your application confirms your availability and commitment to this schedule.
