Job summary

Payaca is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to shape how our installer-focused software looks and behaves across desktop, mobile, and offline modes. You will own design decisions from brief through to production, grow and mature our design system, and collaborate with product engineers to ship high-quality, scalable interfaces used daily by field staff and office teams.

With 4+ years frontend experience, you will balance visual taste with practical implementation, embrace AI-assisted coding, and

Qualifications

4+ years shipping production frontend
Strong in TypeScript, React and CSS
Visual design taste with real user-built work
3+ months using AI coding agents
Experience taking interface work from brief to production
Ability to adapt UI to API or data-model changes
High quality mindset and testable code
Curiosity about clean-energy installers and their business

Responsibilities

Take hardest design problems end to end: define the problem, design, build, ship and monitor production
Grow our design system, balancing consistency with expanding requirements
Mature our design system for agents and developers to work efficiently
Raise the floor on quality across the product and improve difficult flows
Design for desktop, mobile, and offline-first usage
Pair with product engineers on the screens they're building
Use agents to handle volume work like variants and migrations
Set patterns and standards through review and work
