Job summary

An established design consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Rail design professional to join their team on a contract basis, allowing for remote work. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in civil and structural design, particularly within a rail environment. Responsibilities include ensuring BIM standards compliance and acting as the engineering point of contact for the client. A degree in Civil Engineering and knowledge of Network Rail standards are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a Rail environment, including Bridges and Platforms.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure documentation complies with BIM standards and company standards.
• Act as the Engineering/Design point of contact for the client.
• Resolve any technical issues related to design assurance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure all documentation is accurately produced in accordance with BIM standards as well as company standards
• Act as the Technical Ambassador for the projects and be the Engineering/Design point of contact for the client
• Proactively resolve any technical issues relating to design assurance
• Guide CAD/BIM Technicians in the develop of design drawings, details and library of standard details...
• Check design calculations, contract documentation, drawings and technical documents
• Attend internal/external meetings such as; IDC's

Essential Skills

• Substantial Civil and Structural design experience working within a Rail environment i.e Bridges, Platforms, Reinforced Structure Depot's, AFA schemes...
• Must have a degree in Civil Engineering
• Must have knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes

Desired Skills

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or currently working towards) with the ICE
• Ideally has undertaken the role of CRE-D
