This role offers a fixed-term contract with a competitive salary of up to £72,000 per annum and is on-site five days a week.

Senior Design Engineer – Automotive Exteriors

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer – Automotive Exteriors to join a leading global engineering consultancy, supporting exterior systems design activities for a world-class luxury vehicle manufacturer.

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Senior Design Engineer – Automotive Exteriors to contribute to the design and development of exterior components, ensuring class-leading quality, function, and aesthetic appeal within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 3D and 2D CAD models using CATIA V6 for exterior systems and components.
• Conduct feasibility and package studies to ensure robust design solutions that meet technical, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including CAE and manufacturing engineers, to ensure alignment with programme objectives.
• Provide technical input during design reviews and throughout the full product development lifecycle.
• Liaise with engineering teams both in the UK and overseas to support seamless project delivery.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Engineer – Automotive Exteriors within the automotive industry.
• Proficient in CATIA V6 with strong knowledge of exterior systems such as bumpers, trims, glazing, and body panels.
• Fluent in English, capable of clear and precise technical communication.
• CAE capability is highly advantageous.
• Mandarin language skills would be considered a strong additional benefit.
