Job description

Overview

Senior Design Engineer for the position of Design Manager - Automation manufacturing systems / robotics. This would suit a Senior Design Engineer looking for the next step in their career. Projects can vary in size from £50k up to £2m and often within automotive, medical, industrial and aerospace industries. A background in automated machinery systems and manufacturing solutions is required.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage a small team of 4 design engineers.
• Design using 2D AutoCAD and Inventor 3D CAD software.
• Design machines and systems from the concept stage through to the final detailed stage.
• Participate in planning, organizing and customer meetings working closely with the project leader.
• Solve problems and initiate corrective actions as required ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Developing team skills set, motivation.
• Proactively engaging with emerging advances digital twins, Industry 4.0 principles.
• Lead design reviews.
• Participate in customer meetings to clarify technical requirements and present design concepts.

Person Profile / Qualifications

• Several years' relevant design experience within an automated machinery setting - essential
• Worked as a senior design engineer with supervisory and leadership skills, expertise and management career ambitions - essential
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, robotics, and automation technologies - essential
• Visa sponsorship is not possible.

Hours Monday - Friday, 1pm finish Fridays.
