Job summary

You will coordinate design activities, exchange complex information at design reviews, and produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings with

Qualifications

• Experience exchanging complex engineering design information at design reviews.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or Inventor and producing detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Understanding of detailed system and technical drawings including manufacturing drawings with projection layouts, scaling, tolerancing.
• Knowledge of ship system drawings such as piping isometrics and symbols.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detail design activities for mechanical/piping packages for installation solutions.
• Provide advice and support to operations and other functions.
• Coordinate aspects of detail design to meet defined objectives and quality standards.

Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as a Senior Design Engineer in Portsmouth on a hybrid basis Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for Senior Design Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team in Portsmouth on an initial 12 months contract. The rate per hour: £42.08 per hour inside IR35 / umbrella

Role

To undertake a defined range of detail design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality Requirements of Mechanical/Piping design package and reports for Installation solutions on Legacy Warships, Supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and/or to organise and co-ordinate aspects of detail design activity ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements.

Skills

• Required to exchange complex engineering design information at Design Reviews.
• AutoCAD/Inventor design experience and in addition to this, having the ability to produce detailed manufacturing & assembly drawings
• An understanding of detailed system and technical engineering drawings including manufacturing drawings with knowledge of projection layouts, scaling & tolerancing
• Knowledge of ship system engineering drawings such as diagrammatic, piping isometrics and also ship systems materials and equipment (symbols)
