A growing engineering firm in High Wycombe is seeking a Design & Development Engineer. This role requires strong SolidWorks experience to create high-quality models and documents. The successful candidate will support the full product development cycle, improve existing designs, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a design and development role within manufacturing or engineering.
• Good understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative engineering team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Creating high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Supporting the full product development cycle from concept through to production.
• Improving and updating existing product designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Working with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and suppliers.
• Supporting prototype builds, testing, validation, and reporting.
• Assisting in solving technical challenges and contributing innovative ideas to product improvements.
• Producing technical documentation, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
