Job summary

A leading care provider in Ilford is seeking a Senior Day Coach to support children with learning disabilities. The role involves mentoring junior staff and ensuring a positive, engaging environment for young people. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and be confident in handling challenging behaviours. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in SEN, residential, or learning disability support.
  • Level 3 Diploma (or working towards it) is required.
  • Skilled in behaviour support and confident with aggression.
  • Energetic, resilient, and able to engage children effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with hygiene, education, and active play.
  • Respond to behaviours with calm, consistent strategies.
  • Model positive practice for less experienced staff.
  • Encourage children's independence through prompting and teaching.
  • Help the team stay resilient by being a supportive presence.
