Job summary

83zero Limited is seeking a Senior Databricks Technical Engineer to design and evolve enterprise data platforms in a UK-wide hybrid setup. You’ll be the technical expert from day one, mentoring engineers and shaping the platform architecture.

You will build scalable data pipelines with Databricks and SQL, work with Lakehouse architectures, enable rich analytics in BI tools like Power BI, and drive data quality and performance improvements in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Databricks and SQL in enterprise data platforms.
• Ability to design and implement data pipelines from scratch.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Familiarity with Lakehouse / Data Lake architectures.
• Knowledge of BI reporting with Power BI or equivalent.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Databricks Technical Engineer to join a growing enterprise data team where you'll play a key role in designing, building and evolving modern data platforms.

This isn't a role for someone looking to learn Databricks—you'll be the technical expert from day one, helping shape the platform while mentoring other engineers.

• Building enterprise-scale data platforms from the ground up
• Designing robust data pipelines using Databricks and SQL
• Working with modern Lakehouse/Data Lake architectures

What you'll need

• Strong commercial experience with Databricks (essential)
• Expert SQL skills
• Experience building modern data platforms from scratch
• Knowledge of Data Lakes/Lakehouse architectures
• Power BI or similar reporting experience
• A passion for mentoring others and leading technically
• Experience with AI or advanced analytics is a real advantage
