A leading banking institution in the UK is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for a hybrid role focused on private cloud infrastructure. What you’ll do
On a day to day basis you will:
Understand the business area to facilitate the best solution design with team members and product owners
Be environment aware, identify technical impediments / bottlenecks and work directly to resolve
Be technology agnostic and willing to adapt approach in pursuit of the best solution
Be anchored to core engineering area and carry the ability to test and learn
Understand Systems Thinking and Service Design to mitigate reactive solutions that leads to further technical debt
Understand agile and the relationship between agile definitions and automated delivery
Be passionate about automating everything
Be industry aware and understand the importance of new technical approaches to evolve solutions and the experience of the team
Can mentor and coach others, always sharing knowledge for the benefit of the team
What you’ll need
Expertise in a private cloud environment specialising in one or more of the following technologies:
Oracle Database 12c, 19c, 23/26ai. Oracle OCI Console, OEM
Oracle Cloud at Customer/OCI/Oracle Database@Azure
Oracle Autonomous Database
Supporting, managing and designing enterprise systems, including HA/DR solutions
Agile ways of working
Designing or contributing to solutions for a Private Cloud Environment
Backup / Restore and Disaster recovery processes
Defect Management
Performance Optimisation
Technical fault-finding Level 3 & 4
Security best practises and compliance standards
Mentoring Colleagues and supporting technical development of others
Service design and associated methodologies
Problem solving and communication skills
Industry based best practice
And any experience of this would be really useful:
DevOps, Automation Tooling (Chef/Terraform/Ansible)
Interviews for this role will take place on 1st and 2nd December 2025.
