This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team at the heart of the organisation's infrastructure, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring stability, scalability, and performance across complex database environments.

The Role: As Senior DBA, you'll take ownership of production and non-production database environments, ensuring they remain secure, resilient, and optimised. You'll work closely with engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to embed best practices, automate processes, and deliver stable operations. This is a hands‑on technical role suited to someone who thrives on solving complex problems, driving improvements, and mentoring others. You'll have autonomy to shape solutions and influence standards, while contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

The Skill Requirements: We're looking for candidates with a blend of the following:

  • Strong experience with relational database technologies (Mongo/MariaDB/MySQL/Oracle or similar)
  • Deep understanding of database architecture, replication, partitioning, and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Shell or Python)
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies and practices (IaC, CI/CD, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

The Benefits:

  • Salary £85,000
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working from Manchester (2 days per week in the office)
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

This is a great opportunity to join a business where there's more work than people, meaning plenty of scope to grow, take ownership, and elevate your career faster than in most organisations. Interviews will be taking place over the coming weeks. Submit your CV to be considered.
