Job summary

GEOLYTIX in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced modelling across sectors. You will own end-to-end modelling—from gravity models to regression and machine learning—while translating insights into client-ready solutions with strong QA.

You’ll work with SQL-heavy data pipelines, Python/R/Scala, and GIS tools, collaborating with remote global teams. Flexible, full- or part-time options and work-from-home days are considered.

Qualifications

• Pro at using SQL for data manipulation (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Google BigQuery, SparkSQL, etc.)
• Strong coding skills in Python, R, Scala, C, Java, or JS
• Proven track record of using data manipulation and machine learning libraries
• Practical modelling & statistical analysis experience, ideally customer-related
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to collaborate with remote global teams
• Evidence of high attention to detail, proactivity, and managing project deadlines
• Quantitative degree or equivalent apprenticeship / work experience in a subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Geography

Responsibilities

• Build modelling solutions including gravity modelling, regression and machine learning.
• Weigh pros and cons of modelling methodologies with emphasis on interpretability for clients.
• Own analytical decisions and QA as a cornerstone of outputs.
• Lead day-to-day project delivery and strategic discussions independently.
• Mentor junior colleagues and shape core modelling practices.
• Collaborate with remote global teams and customers.
