Job summary

Syngenta Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in the UK to shape predictive science for Crop Protection. You will develop ML/AI-enabled models, integrate diverse scientific data, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive discovery and decision-making.

You will mentor junior colleagues, ensure robust model validation and governance, and contribute to a cutting-edge AI strategy across a global research network in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic background in Data Science, ML, Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
• Demonstrated experience developing ML/AI/GenAI predictive models for scientific or life-science outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of Python and relevant data science tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate predictive models using diverse data to support project decisions.
• Apply AI, ML and GenAI methods to accelerate discovery and decision-making.
• Collaborate with scientists and IT teams to deploy AI-enabled analytical applications.
• Ensure model validation, reproducibility, data governance and risk management.
• Lead junior data scientists and promote knowledge sharing.
