Job description

IT & Technology Recruitment Manager | Connecting Top Tech Talent with Leading UK Businesses

CV Technical are partnered with a scaling AI Start-up who are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to help define and uphold the analytical standards used to evaluate high-stakes AI systems.

This role sits at the intersection of fairness and bias evaluation, rigorous statistical analysis, and applied understanding of hiring and selection processes.

You’ll work closely with senior technical leadership, founders, and product teams across hands‑on analysis, methodological design, and strategic thinking. As one of the earliest data hires, you’ll have significant autonomy to shape both the analytical function and the scope of the role as the organisation grows.

What you’ll work on:
  • Defining and maintaining rigorous analytical methodologies, including statistical tests, fairness metrics, sampling strategies, and validation practices.
  • Translating regulations, standards, and guidance into clear, defensible evaluation and audit procedures.
  • Designing foundations for consistent, high-quality audit execution, including datasets, workflows, and reusable analysis frameworks.
  • Taking a long‑term view on emerging risks, regulatory shifts, and industry trends, and helping evolve the organisation’s AI assurance approach.
  • Anticipating future data and analytical capabilities needed as products and regulations mature.
  • Establishing principles for interpreting results, handling uncertainty, and communicating limitations clearly and responsibly.
  • Supporting high‑stakes stakeholder conversations with technical authority and contextual insight.
  • Contributing to documentation, external‑facing explanations, and thought leadership content to build credibility and trust.
What we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years of senior‑level experience
  • Expertise in either Responsible AI, Psychology or HR Analytics
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and open‑ended analytical problems
  • A rigorous, evidence‑driven mindset with a focus on defensibility and clarity
  • A collaborative, high‑ownership approach to work
  • Awareness of evolving regulations, standards, and industry expectations

If you're looking to impact businesses with cutting edge responsible AI, please apply directly.

Please note, this role is based in London, UK. You will be required to work from the office on a hybrid basis. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
