Job summary

Sky's Data Science practice is expanding to transform customer insights into measurable value across marketing, interactions and services. You’ll build predictive models for churn and lifetime value, develop AI agents, and collaborate with tech teams to deploy scalable customer treatments.

This role emphasizes leading with data, applying generative AI concepts where relevant, and mentoring teams in a hybrid working environment. Osterley-based with flexible office attendance.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in advanced analytics and ML, including forecasting and clustering.
• Proven track record deploying large-scale AI/ML solutions in cloud environments.
• Ability to translate business objectives into analytical solutions for senior stakeholders.
• Excellent Python skills using Scikit-learn and PyTorch; experience with VS Code and MLOps.

Role/Team Overview

Data Science practice at Sky

Data science is at the heart of decision making in Sky and drives a majority of decisions across marketing, customer interactions and customer services at Sky. In the Advanced Analytics team, we are scaling up our data science practice to transform how we manage customers across all life cycles for both experience profitability. We have built and successfully deployed intelligence into Sky and are already delivering realisable value into the business. We gather a very large amount of data on customer behaviours and interactions and are looking for data scientists to extract value from our data assets and maximise customer value.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and drive actionable customer intelligence from our core data assets using advanced analytics
• Build AI and machine learning solutions using our rich data, including product holding, demographics, product usage, customer service interactions and customer metrics
• Develop predictive models for churn, lifetime value, customer segmentation and other customer-focused use cases
• Explore and build AI agents that automate analysis, speed up insight generation and support better customer decisions
• Work with stakeholders to define objectives and turn business needs into analytical solutions
• Partner with technology teams and data engineers to build compliant, efficient and scalable solutions for customer treatments at Sky
• Strengthen our data science capabilities by trying new ideas, testing emerging AI tools and supporting the development of our people
• Lead projects with 1-2 team members, planning tasks and delegating appropriately

What You’ll Bring

Essential criteria:

• Strong hands-on experience in advanced analytics and machine learning, including forecasting, predictive modelling, optimisation and clustering
• Proven track record of building and deploying large-scale AI/ML solutions in cloud environments
• Ability to quickly understand business objectives, solve complex problems and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders
• Excellent Python skills using Scikit-learn and PyTorch, experience working in VS Code with AI-assisted coding tools, and knowledge of MLOps for production deployment
• Familiarity with generative AI, AI agents and agentic workflows, and an interest in applying them to real business problems

How You’ll Work

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week.

Osterley
