Senior/Principal Data Scientist

Locations: Frimley, Preston, Bristol or London, UK. Duration: Permanent/Fulltime. Salary: £60,000-70,000 per annum (depending on experience). Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week at a location that suits the consultant.

Security clearance: Must hold active SC clearance or be able to obtain it.

Overview: As a data scientist you will work on a broad range of projects with a multi‑disciplinary team. You’ll apply cutting‑edge machine learning techniques to deliver solutions – from data exploration and visualisation to algorithm integration and data‑processing pipelines. You’ll also drive the choice of tools and techniques, lead a technical delivery team when appropriate and support business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply statistical and machine‑learning techniques to solve interesting problems.
• Develop deep‑learning models for image, video, text and other unstructured data.
• Design and maintain data processing pipelines and production‑grade ML workflows.
• Lead and support a technical delivery team, fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, presenting findings and managing expectations.
• Implement MLOps practices using tools such as MLFlow, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Build user‑facing solutions with web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI, Streamlit).
• Choose appropriate data storage solutions (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, S3, etc.).
• Create visualisations and dashboards to communicate insights.
