Senior Data Protection Monitoring Associate

We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Data Protection Monitoring Associate to join our Office of the Data Protection Officer (ODPO) Team in London. Locations: Tallinn, Estonia | London, United Kingdom

This is a critical advisory and monitoring function where you will work closely with Bolt’s Global DPO and Privacy Legal Team to ensure global privacy compliance and drive data protection best practices across the business. This role requires a proactive, business‑minded leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, international technology environment. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the privacy of our user base.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Provide day‑to‑day management and operational support for the ODPO Team.
  • Proactively identify and monitor new privacy laws, regulatory updates, and best practices across all Bolt markets, leading gap assessments and remediation efforts.
  • Advise on projects involving personal data, conduct DPIAs, and oversee the handling of complex user and employee data subject rights requests.
  • Maintain internal privacy documentation, including policies, procedures, ROPA, and DPO registrations, while developing and delivering engaging privacy training and awareness programs.
  • Collaborate with teams across Legal & Compliance, Information Security, Public Policy, Customer Support, and People to deliver holistic, solution‑focused privacy guidance.
  • Help position the Privacy Team as a centre of excellence by driving thought leadership, awareness, and trust with users, partners, and regulators.
About you:
  • You ideally have at least 4 years of experience specialising in data protection or privacy, gained in a law firm, regulatory body, or international company.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a solution‑oriented mindset, and strong analytical abilities.
  • You are independent, proactive, collaborative, creative, and business‑minded, with experience working with multiple stakeholders across different jurisdictions.
  • A legal qualification from a reputable university or law school and authorisation to practise law are a plus.
  • Additional advantages include data protection certifications (e.g. IAPP CIPP/E), experience with regulatory or breach investigations, and direct engagement with data protection regulators.
  • While Bolt offers hybrid working, this role requires a minimum of three days per week in our London office.
  • Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

We provide reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities.

Why you’ll love it here:

The legal, Risk, and Privacy teams work with all functions to ensure Bolt complies with laws and operates with integrity. Our Legal team handles everything from local legislation and data protection to supporting expansion, product launches, and regulatory compliance.

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
  • Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
  • Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
  • Balance flexibility and in‑person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in‑office days.
