Job summary

Cloud Bridge is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer in Newcastle upon Tyne to design and build a scalable, cloud-based data platform powering analytics and AI capabilities. You will own data structuring, governance, and platform strategy while contributing to design, development, and implementation.

You will work with the CTO and senior stakeholders to shape data and AI strategy, delivering enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and AI/ML solutions.

Qualifications

• Senior data engineering or data architecture leadership experience.
• Hands-on design of cloud data platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Databricks or Snowflake.
• Strong enterprise-scale data modelling experience.
• Experience building AI-enabled data architectures.
• Knowledge of RAG, vector databases, embeddings and LLMs.
• Experience with batch and real-time data processing.
• Good data governance, quality and metadata practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, cloud-based data platforms and architectures.
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable data solutions.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Design and implement AI-ready architectures including RAG and LLMs.
• Build and optimise data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Lead data integration, transformation and migration initiatives.
• Establish data governance, quality, metadata and security frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across data initiatives.
• Ensure data platforms are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
