Job summary

Bloomberg is seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to DTP, a Kubernetes-based platform that builds and operates event-driven data pipelines at scale. You will help design, implement, and maintain services processing billions of events daily, with strong emphasis on reliability and observability.

You will join a London-based team to own features end-to-end, work across the stack, and collaborate with data professionals to improve ingestion pipelines and system resilience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience in Python, Go, or a comparable language.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining distributed systems in production.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including design documents and incident follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate infrastructure and platform features for event-driven data pipelines.
• Work across the stack to build simple and reliable user-facing abstractions over complex distributed infrastructure.
• Own our systems end-to-end, from identifying problems through to production rollout and on-call support.
