Job summary

Haven is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Data Modelling) for a remote-first UK role with occasional travel to head office and parks. You will design Kimball-style dimensional models, craft robust transformations in dbt, and drive the semantic layer that delivers trusted guest insights for dashboards and forecasts.

We value deep modelling expertise, strong SQL/dbt skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Deep dimensional modelling experience with Kimball in production warehouses.
• Ability to translate business processes into clean data models understood by stakeholders.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills for building transformations and semantic layers.
• Experience deriving conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions and grain declaration.

Responsibilities

• Translate business processes into intuitive, domain-aligned dimensional models.
• Model with Kimball methodology and design scalable data models.
• Design, build and evolve dimensional data models with correct grain.
• Build the dbt layer and semantic layer turning raw data into trusted business truth.
• Champion data quality, testing and documentation as part of modelling craft.
• Share modelling patterns and techniques with engineers to raise standards.
• Shape trade-offs and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
