This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Governance Analyst in EMEA.
In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and protecting personal and sensitive data across global operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that data is collected, processed, and shared in compliance with applicable regulations and privacy standards. The position involves operationalizing data protection by design, maintaining inventories, overseeing risk assessments, and supporting technical teams to enforce security controls. You will monitor evolving data privacy laws and implement governance frameworks to enable responsible, data‑driven decision‑making. This role also involves producing compliance reports, dashboards, and metrics to highlight data risks, quality, and remediation status. You will contribute to awareness and training initiatives, building a culture of data stewardship across the organization. This is a fully remote position within the EMEA region, offering an opportunity to work on high‑impact data governance initiatives.
Accountabilities
- Maintain the personal data inventory and Record of Processing Activities (ROPA).
- Implement, enforce, and monitor data classification, retention, and minimization processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to embed data privacy and protection by design in systems and applications.
- Create and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Transfer Impact Assessments (DTIAs), and other privacy risk assessments.
- Manage data subject rights (DSR) requests to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support technical teams in applying personal data protection and security controls.
- Monitor evolving data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions and advise stakeholders on compliance.
- Develop governance dashboards and compliance metrics, highlighting data risk trends and remediation status.
- Produce regular reports for senior management, auditors, and privacy committees.
- Lead awareness and training initiatives to promote proper personal data handling and breach prevention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Law (Data Protection/Privacy focus), Data Science, or equivalent.
- CIPP/E, CIPM, CDMP, or equivalent privacy/data management certifications.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or privacy operations.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and AML/KYC regulations.
- Proven experience with data governance tools and frameworks.
- Practical knowledge of data classification, lineage, retention, and access control.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and report on technical data flows, risks, and controls.
- Preferred: experience with multi‑jurisdictional compliance, cross‑border data transfers, or in online gambling, sports betting, or financial services.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
