Sage’s Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Manager to define the future of data engineering across the organization. You’ll partner with Technology leadership to design a scalable, secure data platform and guide a global team to deliver data-driven insights, analytics and decision-making.

You will coach, mentor, and develop a distributed team, embedding best practices, standards and governance. The role emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise in data engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience leading a large global data engineering team and coaching.
• Ability to translate vision into executable plans across complex programs.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines and applying AI tools to data tech stacks.

Responsibilities

• Shape the data engineering transformation strategy and drive execution.
• Assess processes, tooling, skills, and automation maturity across the data space.
• Design hiring and role-redesign plans to build the function to the target state.
• Establish data-centric success metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and governance.
• Develop and govern the data roadmap with product and business leadership.
• Set data engineering standards, operating principles, and tooling strategy.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to embed quality by design and robust datasets.
• Provide data-driven leadership reporting and risk assessments to senior leadership.
• Embed documentation, playbooks, and knowledge-sharing practices.
• Coach and develop a distributed team of data engineers.
