Job summary

UK Export Finance is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Digital, Data and Technology Directorate in Leeds. You will develop and maintain data infrastructure, including ETL pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes, and collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end data services.

The role focuses on data integration, platform management, security, and process improvements to support a growing data capability and better business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience designing data integration and ETL solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Familiarity with GDPR/compliance and data security practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data integration solutions and ETL processes.
• Manage data platforms, including data warehouses and data lakes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data processing systems to ensure reliability.
• Manage deployment and release of data pipelines and applications.
• Improve data infrastructure and processes for performance and scalability.
• Support data security, integrity and regulatory compliance (GDPR).
• Provide quality assurance and code reviews.
• Contribute to UKEF’s data strategy and roadmap.

We’re hiring: Senior Data Engineer at UK Export Finance (UKEF)

This is an exciting opportunity to join UKEF at a key point in the growth of our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Directorate.

Our DDaT Directorate brings together expertise across digital services, user-centred design, analytics and technology, helping UKEF become an increasingly customer-focused and digitally enabled organisation.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play an important role in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports this ambition.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining data integration solutions and ETL processes
• Managing data platforms, including data warehouses and data lakes
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data processing systems
• Managing the deployment and release of data pipelines and applications
• Improving data infrastructure and processes
• Supporting data security, integrity and regulatory compliance, including GDPR
• Providing quality assurance and code reviews
• Contributing to UKEF’s wider data strategy and roadmap

You’ll work closely with colleagues across DDaT and the wider organisation to help develop end-to-end services that meet user needs and deliver better business outcomes.
