You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to define how data is structured, transformed, and leveraged for product innovation and performance insights. Reporting to the Data Engineer Manager, you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, influencing architecture, ensuring technical excellence, and integrating advancements such as Ozone's agentic development framework into product data development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of complex, product-aligned data pipelines and transformations in dbt Cloud and BigQuery, ensuring scalability and performance across multiple product areas.
  • Act as the data lead within cross-functional Scrum teams, shaping data requirements, defining modeling strategies, and ensuring technical feasibility from discovery through delivery.
  • Drive data discovery and technical scoping during product ideation, advising on the best ways to leverage data for new features, measurement, and product optimization.
  • Own end-to-end quality and scalability of product data solutions, implementing frameworks that ensure accuracy, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
  • Proactively identify cross-product dependencies, lead alignment sessions with the wider Data Engineering team, and contribute to defining shared data standards.
  • Champion best practices in testing, observability, and documentation, introducing improved frameworks or automation where possible.
  • Integrate the advancement of the agentic development framework into product data development, driving automation and continuous improvement in data workflows.
  • Contribute to the strategic evolution of Ozone's data stack, evaluating new technologies and mentoring other engineers in modern data practices.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven product insights and performance tracking.
