Oakland, a tech-agnostic consultancy, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to develop broad, adaptable skillsets while remaining hands-on and providing technical leadership across projects, teams, and clients in a blended office setup.

You will guide architecture, mentor peers, and work on data platforms, BI, software engineering, AI solutions and cloud transformation across diverse client engagements.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL and Python; other languages welcome.
• Experience designing scalable engineering solutions.
• Cloud experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong practices: testing, code quality, version control, and design patterns.
• Experience leading technical workstreams and guiding engineers.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions for clients.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across projects, teams and clients.
• Shape technical direction, mentor colleagues, and contribute to solution architecture.
• Deliver data platform implementations, BI solutions, software engineering, AI tasks, and cloud transformation initiatives.
