Job summary

The Travel Chapter Ltd is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Product Engineering team on a permanent, hybrid basis in the UK. You will design, build and evolve the data platform and warehouse, turning disparate data into trusted datasets for analytics and operational use.

You will lead data pipelines, data modelling, and best practices while mentoring teammates and shaping engineering standards across the team.

Qualifications

Strong commercial data engineering experience, ideally in a senior or lead capacity.
Advanced SQL and an excellent understanding of databases.
Strong Python skills for data engineering.
Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional/data modelling.
Experience designing and operating production data pipelines.
Experience with automated testing, version control and CI/CD.
Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.

Responsibilities

Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes and data models.
Developing and maintaining data models and database schemas for large data volumes.
Collaborating with product managers, developers and stakeholders to define data requirements.
Improving engineering standards, reliability and observability of data solutions.
Mentoring engineers and coaching the team to raise capability.
Identifying technical debt and optimising the data platform.
