Job summary

Fractal in West London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will transform raw data into reliable datasets to fuel analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives, with a focus on quality and automation.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years’ experience, strong SQL, and hands-on expertise with modern ETL/ELT frameworks, data modeling, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL expertise for complex ETL/ELT.
• Hands-on with Apache Spark, Airflow, DBT or similar.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse.
• Proficient in Python and/or Scala.
• Knowledge of agentic workflows and Git.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and monitor robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Model relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data structures.
• Ingest data from diverse sources and integrate systems.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and governance.
• Manage cloud data infrastructure across providers.
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and stakeholders.
• Automate deployments, testing, and monitoring (CI/CD).
• Document pipelines, models, and processes.
• Troubleshoot failures and bottlenecks; provide on-call support.
