Job summary

Arthur Recruitment is partnering with an established Insurance Broker to hire a Senior Data Engineer for a major data platform modernisation. You will build and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, and help steer the move from Azure Synapse towards Microsoft Fabric.

The role is hybrid, based in London with 2–3 days in the office. Expect monthly travel to Essex, Taunton and Southampton; regional trips are planned so you won't commute to London during those weeks.

Qualifications

• Experience building robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong cloud data engineering fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric or equivalent.
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integrations.
• Support evolution from Synapse towards Microsoft Fabric.
• Improve data quality, reliability and platform performance.
• Establish CI/CD practices and engineering standards.
• Contribute to platform design and technical decisions.
• Collaborate across Data, Technology and Software Engineering teams.
