Job description

Senior Data Engineer / Analyst – £65,000 – London

Pearson Carter are currently working with a global luxury hospitality organisation with a worldwide portfolio of independent hotels.

They are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Analyst to manage and improve existing data pipelines, build scalable new solutions and help drive the organisation's wider data and AI strategy.

The role offers a genuine combination of Data Engineering and Data Analysis, with key technologies including Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, SQL Server and Tableau.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership and influence within a small IT & Data function, rather than joining a large data department with established processes and limited scope to make an impact.

They offer a competitive salary of £65,000, flexible working hours and a hybrid working environment requiring a minimum of three days per week in their Mayfair office.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain and improve existing data pipelines.

  • Design and implement new scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.

  • Work with large and complex datasets across reservation, hotel inspection and operational data.

  • Develop and improve existing static Tableau reports.

  • Translate business requirements into effective data and analytical solutions.

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand requirements and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Support the development of the organisation's wider data and AI strategy.

  • Contribute to decisions around future data architecture, tooling and data capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve how data is collected, managed, analysed and utilised across the business.

  • Take ownership of data projects from requirements through to delivery.

Experience:
  • 3 years' relevant experience across Data Engineering, Data Analysis or a combination of both.

  • Strong commercial experience with Azure Data Factory – essential.

  • Strong SQL and SQL Server skills.

  • Strong experience building, managing and improving data pipelines.

  • Experience working with large, complex datasets.

  • Experience with Tableau, ideally within a commercial reporting environment.

  • Experience with Python or another data-focused programming language.

  • Strong understanding of data quality, reliability and data management principles.

  • Experience translating business requirements into technical data solutions.

  • Comfortable presenting data, insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on environment with a high level of autonomy.

  • A proactive approach with the ability to influence decision‑making rather than simply deliver against predefined requirements.

  • British Citizen, ILR or Settled Status.

Desirable:
  • Power BI experience.

  • Experience contributing to a data or AI strategy.

  • Experience working with Azure cloud data platforms.

  • Experience within hospitality, travel or another data-rich international organisation.

  • Experience modernising legacy or disconnected data environments.

  • Experience working across both technical data engineering and business-facing analytics.
