About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead data platform initiatives across enterprise clients. You will architect and govern large-scale data solutions using cloud platforms (Cloudera, Teradata, Snowflake, Databricks), mentor a team of engineers, and drive adoption of modern data engineering practices. This role bridges technical leadership and client advisory — you’ll own data strategy for major accounts and be accountable for delivery and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data platform architecture & design — design enterprise data lakes, warehouse schemas, and ETL frameworks for mission-critical banking and financial systems
• Manage technical teams — mentor 3–5 engineers; drive code reviews, design decisions, and capability building
• Govern data quality & security — design metadata management, data lineage, and governance frameworks for regulated environments (banking)
• Own client relationships — advise on data modernization strategies, translate business requirements into technical roadmaps
• Optimize platform operations — monitor costs, performance, and security across cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera)
• Drive innovation — evaluate new tools, establish best practices, share knowledge across teams

Required Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in: Data Modeling for complex schemas (dimensional, normalized, data vault) Cloudera OR Teradata — deep operational and architectural knowledge Snowflake OR Databricks — production deployment, tuning, governance
• 8+ years in data engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership/architect role
• Proven experience managing and mentoring teams
• Banking or highly regulated data environment experience — familiarity with compliance (AML/KYC), data lineage, audit trails
• Strong communication skills — comfortable presenting to C-suite and non-technical stakeholders

Recommended Skills

• Experience with both Cloudera/Teradata AND Snowflake/Databricks
• Advanced data governance — Collibra, Alation, or custom frameworks
• Data modeling for banking — PSD2, GDPR, Basel III data requirements
• Hands-on work with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg
• Cloud cost optimization and FinOps
