Job summary

At M&G, this senior role bridges business needs and technology delivery for data governance and transformation. You will lead complex data analyses, validate requirements, and shape measurable data outcomes across business and technology teams.

You will work with SMEs, Product Owners and Data Engineers to ensure clear, validated requirements and end-to-end traceability, balancing value, cost and risk while driving data quality and governance.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise combining business analysis, data analysis and data cataloguing.
• Ability to identify, document and validate complex data requirements.
• Ability to analyse source systems and data, validating information rather than relying on stakeholder input.
• Proven expertise in Agile methodologies, writing good user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Proficient use of enterprise data platforms, semantic models and dimensional modelling.
• Familiarity with star schemas, fact tables and dimension tables.
• Proficient understanding of data architecture, ETL and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the documentation and cataloguing of data requirements for existing and redesigned business processes.
• Lead complex data analysis to validate business requirements and investigate source systems.
• Translate data requirements into measurable outcomes supporting better decision-making and efficiency.
• Assess upstream and downstream data flows and interdependencies within the data architecture.
• Produce clear technical change specifications and user stories with end-to-end traceability.
• Interrogate requirements from a sustainable data perspective and provide alternatives.
• Work with data engineering teams to convert requirements into built data products.
• Influence stakeholders to align on data definitions and strategic initiatives.
• Lead data quality assessments and support data-driven improvement strategies.
• Apply data governance in line with enterprise frameworks.
