Job summary

Harnham - Data & Analytics Recruitment in the Wolverhampton area is seeking a Senior BI Developer / Senior Data Analyst for a hybrid role. You will own BI reporting, build Power BI dashboards and semantic models, and collaborate with commercial stakeholders to drive decisions.

Responsibilities include designing data models, optimising SQL queries, and supporting Microsoft Fabric and Azure capabilities. You will mentor juniors while presenting insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in BI development or data analytics, with ownership of reporting solutions.
  • Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, semantic modelling and performance optimisation.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex transformations, query optimisation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience building dimensional data models and developing ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data technologies or comparable modern data platforms.
  • A strong understanding of commercial metrics, including revenue, profit, margin and forecasting.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities, challenging constructively and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Experience within retail, wholesale or a similarly fast-moving commercial environment would be advantageous.

SENIOR BI DEVELOPER / SENIOR DATA ANALYST

WOLVERHAMPTON AREA - HYBRID, 3 DAYS IN THE OFFICE


An opportunity to join a growing national business investing in its data and analytics capabilities. You'll take ownership of BI reporting, work with commercial stakeholders and help develop a modern Microsoft data platform.


THE COMPANY

This established organisation is expanding its data function to support continued growth and improve decision-making across the business.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, you'll combine hands-on BI development with commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement.


Your responsibilities will include:

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

THE BENEFITS


  • Salary of £50,000-£70,000, depending on experience.

  • 25 days' annual leave.

  • Hybrid working with three days in the office and two from home.

  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and commercially significant projects.


A driving licence is required. More frequent office attendance during the initial onboarding period would be beneficial. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
