Job summary

Ocado Retail, the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket, is seeking a Senior Buyer for the Dairy category. Based in Hatfield with hybrid working (3 days in the office), you will own the category P&L, lead supplier JBPs, and shape the range with data-driven insights to drive growth.

You will mentor a Buyer and support Category Assistants while collaborating with the Trading Manager and Buying Director to deliver innovation and best-in-class availability.

• Significant retail buying experience with a track record of delivering breakthrough results.
• Exceptional negotiation expertise for high‑value supplier agreements.
• Proven leadership with mentoring/people management skills.
• Strong influencing and executive stakeholder management abilities.
• Expertise in complex data analysis to define category strategy.
• Proven project management capability for long‑term initiatives.
• Passion for Fresh/Dairy categories and best‑in‑class customer proposition.

Responsibilities

• Be fully accountable for the category P&L and deliver against KPIs.
• Lead negotiations to deliver market‑leading JBPs with suppliers.
• Develop category strategy and refine the range to align with business goals.
• Manage a Buyer and coach Category Assistants; use data to drive decisions.
