Dstl is seeking a Senior Cyber Artificial Intelligence Specialist to lead research, development and assessment of cutting-edge AI technologies for national security and defence. You will evaluate generative AI, LLMs, foundation models and autonomous systems, delivering evidence-based recommendations and high-quality reports.

You will mentor colleagues, provide technical leadership, and help shape responsible use of AI across cyber programmes.

Formación

• A STEM degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of AI technologies including generative AI, LLMs, foundation models and autonomous systems.
• Strong Python programming skills with AI development tooling.

Responsabilidades

• Research, develop and apply AI technologies to solve cyber and defence challenges.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities (generative AI, LLMs, foundation models, autonomous systems).
• Produce evidence-based recommendations on AI performance and risks.
• Lead technical activities within multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to AI capability development across the organisation.
