Job summary

Randstad Delivery is seeking a Senior Customs and Trade Advisor to join its in-house tax team. The role focuses on customs tax, duty relief and DDP imports, providing expert guidance and leading a small team within a global framework.

You will manage HMRC authorisations, ensure accurate tariff classification, and support with regulatory compliance across US, EU and other regions, with hybrid work and a start ASAP following checks.

Qualifications

• A full Tax Accountancy qualification (CTA,ATT, ACA, ACCA)
• Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to nature of the Steelworks)
• Experience in business forecasting related to taxation
• Capability of conducting complex top level financial analysis
• Broad understanding of taxation issues and how they affect other departments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience leading a small team
• Customs systems experience (CDS, SAP, GTS or equivalent)
• Good IT literacy with MS Office

Responsibilities

• Supporting the multinational business and the tax team with customs and related taxes (CBAM)
• Regulatory management of US, EU, and other global DDP imports and projects
• Being responsible for HMRC authorisations in respect of duty relief
• Ensuring accurate tariff classification, customs valuation and origin determination
• Leading and overseeing customs compliance and trade regulatory activity
• Ensuring adherence to international trade laws at all times
• Optimising duty costs where possible
• Mitigating risk and being a subject matter expert in providing such guidance
• Contributing with the IT function including advising senior leadership
• Playing an active role in continuous improvement for the department
