Job summary

Fionics, a London-based crypto-native market maker, seeks a quant researcher to push the HFT alpha stack forward. The role is pure research with no devops detours—focus on feature design, model architecture and signal improvement.

From hypothesis to production without hand-holding, you’ll work across the full alpha stack and see your work deployed in live strategies within the same week. 2–7 years of experience preferred; strong Python and/or C++ skills and a solid stats mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• A rigorous, empirically-minded researcher who loves noisy data and sharp questions.
• Strong in Python and/or C++, fluent in stats and optimisation, and able to take an idea from hypothesis to production without hand-holding.
• 2–7 years is the sweet spot, but they hire for slope, not seniority.
• PnL track record, olympiad pedigree, or world-class academics — any of the three lands.

Responsibilities

• Full alpha stack: feature engineering through statistical modelling to optimiser tuning.
• Design features and models to improve signals and performance.
• Deploy work to live strategies with fast feedback into PnL.
