Senior Credit Controller - London

As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Credit Control expert to join our Advisory Division.

SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 Quantity Surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.

The Credit Controller is responsible for the collection of outstanding debts and plays a key role in shaping and implementing credit policies, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and customers.

You should have and demonstrate strong skills in some or all of the following:

Cash Collection and Credit Management
  • Ensure cash collection targets are met consistently
  • Monitor and action mailboxes promptly
  • Implement and follow the Dunning Strategy to optimise debt recovery
  • Implement systems for monitoring customer credit accounts and promptly identify potential risks
Billing and Process Management
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to review and enhance processes that impact customer billing
  • Ensure billing accuracy and efficiency
Customer Relationship Management
  • Collaborate teams to understand customer needs and negotiate appropriate credit terms
  • Build strong relationships with customers to facilitate open communication and address credit-related concerns proactively
Team and Organisational Support
  • Promote a positive image of SOCOTEC central finance both internally and externally
  • Assist colleagues where required to ensure seamless operations

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and foster working relationships with customers and SOCOTEC staff
  • Numerate, organised and logical approach to problem-solving
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and SAGE would be preferred
