Senior Cost Consultant - Life Sciences

Location: UK (focus on London, Oxford & Cambridge)

Permanent Position

Salary: £53,000 - £63,000 + benefits

About the Role

Our client is expanding their Life Science & Research Cost Management team and seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to help deliver world‑class research, technology, and life science facilities for leading national and global clients.

As part of a dynamic Cost Management team, you'll play a key role in shaping projects from concept to completion – ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Your expertise in cost planning, procurement, estimating, and budget management will support smarter, more sustainable delivery across a range of landmark projects.

What You'll Do
  • Provide Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services for science and research projects across the UK & Europe
  • Manage projects from feasibility to completion, including cost estimates, benchmarking, procurement, and contract management
  • Build strong client relationships and manage key stakeholders effectively
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the delivery of smart, safe, and sustainable environments where people live, learn, and thrive
What We're Looking For
  • MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven track record delivering large, complex construction projects – ideally within Life Sciences, Research, Technology, or heavy MEP sectors
  • Strong understanding of cost and value drivers
  • Passion for innovation, collaboration, and quality outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using Digital Cost Management tools (e.g. CostX, 5D BIM, Benchmarking software)
  • Leadership qualities with experience mentoring junior team members
