Job description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a dynamic local authority, based in Staffordshire, which is seeking a Senior Contracts Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on high-level, challenging work across a range of directorates and external public sector clients.

Role
  • Location: Staffordshire – remote working
  • Contract: 5 months ongoing
  • Umbrella Rate: £55‑£60ph
  • PAYE Inc Rate: £48.44‑£52.79ph
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal casework (principally the drafting, vetting, and negotiation) primarily to corporate procurement contracts/projects.
  • Provision of robust client focused advice regarding contract standing orders, financial regulations and all other applicable legal and practical constraints.
  • Drafting, negotiation and completion of commercial contracts/tender documentation for goods, works, equipment and/or services.
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (in England and Wales) with 5+ years of PQE in commercial contracts and procurement law.
  • Demonstrable experience within local government, public sector, or commercial private practice advising on procurement and contract issues.
  • Excellent understanding of public procurement frameworks, construction contracts, and corporate governance structures.
